How it looks matters
Most business software is ugly because nobody was made to use it.
Internal tools get built once, by whoever was free, and then everyone suffers quietly for six years. We build the boring screens with the same care as the front page. Those are the ones your team opens forty times a day.
- Spacing on a grid, so nothing looks accidental.
- One obvious next action on every screen.
- Words a person would say out loud, never system jargon.
- Works on a phone, because half your team isn’t at a desk.
- Keyboard, screen reader and color contrast handled, not bolted on later.
Judge us on the work.
We keep our clients and our own products off this page. What we can tell you is what the work involved. That’s the part that matters when you’re deciding whether someone can finish what you need.
- In productionProducts of our own, live and paid for
- We’re our own first customer. Everything we would recommend to you is something we already run ourselves.
- Store reviewApps submitted, reviewed and approved
- Apple and Google review is a process, not a formality. We have been through it, and we build for it from the first day.
- MoneySubscriptions, billing and renewals
- Taking payment reliably is its own engineering problem. Ours runs without anyone watching it.
- Scheduled workSystems that run when nobody is awake
- Reminders, imports and jobs that have to fire on time, and tell someone when they don’t.
How a project starts
You describe the problem
Not the software you think you want. The thing costing you time, money or customers right now.
We tell you if we’re the wrong people
Some problems don’t need custom software. If yours is one of them we’ll say so, and tell you what to buy instead.
We scope it in writing
What gets built, what it costs, what it doesn’t include, and when it’s done. All before any code is written.
We build it and hand it over
You own the code and the accounts. We can keep running it for you, or you can take it and go.
Where to start
Tell us what is costing you time.
Not the software you think you need. The problem. If we are the wrong people for it we will say so, and point you at whoever is right.
