Billing and Refunds
How subscriptions renew, how to cancel one, and who issues a refund depending on where you bought it.
The thing that catches everybody outWe cannot cancel or refund a subscription you bought through an app store. Only the store that took your money can do that. It is not us being unhelpful; we have no button that does it.
Every subscription we sell renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you bought it, and keeps renewing until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and the section below tells you exactly where. Cancelling always keeps your access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Section 1First work out where you bought it
Where you cancel depends entirely on who charged you. Check your card statement or your email receipts. If the receipt came from Apple, Google or Shopify, they are the ones who can refund it. If it came from us, we are.
Not sure? Send us the date and the amount through the support page and we will tell you which one it is.
Section 2Bought through Apple
To cancel: on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose the subscription and tap Cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
To request a refund: Apple handles all refunds for purchases made through the App Store, under their own terms. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. Apple decides the outcome, not us.
If Apple refuses and you believe the software genuinely did not work, tell us through the support page. We cannot overturn Apple’s decision, but we can sometimes help in other ways, and we would rather know that the product failed you.
Section 3Bought through Google Play
To cancel: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose the subscription and tap Cancel. Access continues to the end of the paid period.
To request a refund: Google handles refunds for purchases made through Google Play under their own policy, which usually allows a full refund within 48 hours of purchase and case by case review after that. Request it from your Google Play order history.
As with Apple, we cannot issue or override a Google Play refund, and we do not receive your payment details.
Section 4Bought through Shopify
To cancel: in your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps and sales channels, find the app and remove it. Removing the app cancels its subscription.
Billing: Shopify bills app subscriptions through your Shopify invoice, on their cycle. Charges already on an issued invoice are handled by Shopify.
Refunds: raise it with us through the support page. Where we agree a refund is due we arrange it through Shopify’s partner tools.
Section 5Bought directly from us
This is the one we control completely, so the rules are simple.
- Cancel any time. From your account settings. It takes effect at the end of the current period and you keep access until then.
- Fourteen days, no questions. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we refund it in full. You do not have to give a reason.
- Annual plans. Cancel within 30 days of an annual payment and we refund it in full. After that we refund the unused whole months if you ask.
- Renewals you did not mean to make. Tell us within 30 days of a renewal charge you did not intend and we refund it, provided you have not made significant use of the service in that period. We do not make people fight for this.
- How long it takes. We process refunds within one business day. Your bank usually takes another five to ten days to show it.
Refunds go back to the card that paid, because that is the only place a payment processor can send them.
Section 6Renewals and price changes
- Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. That is stated before you buy, on the store listing and in the app.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
- If we raise a price, your current period finishes at the old price and we tell you before the new one applies, so you have time to cancel.
- If a payment fails we retry and tell you. We do not quietly suspend an account without warning you first.
Section 7If the software did not do what we said
That is a different conversation from a refund policy. Tell us what you expected and what happened through the support page. If we described something the product does not do, we will fix the description, fix the product, or refund you, and which of those depends on which one actually helps you.
If we discontinue a product you are paying for, we refund the unused part of your current period automatically. You will not have to ask.
Section 8Rights that override all of this
Consumer law in your country may give you rights that are stronger than anything on this page, including statutory cooling off periods and remedies where goods or services are not as described. Nothing here limits those rights, and where local law says something different from this page, local law wins.
In the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, consumers generally have a 14 day right to withdraw from a distance contract, subject to the rules about digital content supplied immediately with your consent.
